Avalanche Survival

I saw this on the Weather Channel once and thought I share: Apparently an avalanche is very similar to a forceful wave so you should try to stay on top of it by swimming (yes, just like you would swim with a wave). If you do get buried by snow, shake your head vigorously to create an air pocket. But remember you only have air for 15-30 minutes so stay calm and control your breathing in order to get the most out of the air you have. Ohhh, and one more thing, if you are disoriented just spit out a drop or two as the spit will travel down to the ground (so the other side is up – your way out).
