Car blizzard survival kid

Traveling up north in the winter can be tricky if not life threatening.

Besides having my car winterized and keeping my tank above ½ full at all times I carried the following things in my car:
Ziploc or coffee can with Nonperishable food such as, candy, nuts, dried fruit and beef jerky. I also had a waterproof container that was filled with sanitary needs in case I get trapped in the car.
My blizzard survival kid also included:

  • Red flag or bandanna to tie to the antenna
  • Battery operated warning and flash light
  • A cup or mug to gather snow to melt for drinking
  • Extra winter clothing (caps, cloves, hats)
  • Blankets and/or a sleeping bag
  • First-aid kit with pocket knife
  • Cell phone with backup battery
